The cost of land clearing is an important
consideration. R Cedar is committed to clearing your land at the lowest possible
cost. While it’s not possible to give you an estimate of the cost of your job on
this Website we can tell you about the components of the job that affect the
cost and can explain the ways that R Cedar can work with you to control your
costs.
People normally ask how much land
can be cleared in an hour or in a day. The answer is “it depends”.
To over-dramatize the point consider an acre of land that has one
medium sized tree on it. We can clear that acre in minutes. On the
other hand consider an acre that is completely overgrown with large
eighteen to twenty-four inch diameter cedar trees right next to each
other. It will take days to clear that acre.
Obviously, reality is somewhere in between. The factors that affect
the clearing speed, and thus the cost, include:
-
The amount of land to be cleared
-
The density of the overgrowth
-
The terrain
-
The quantity of desirable hardwoods to be preserved
-
The choice of machine(s) to be used
-
The choice of clearing method to be used
R Cedar can bill for its services in
one of two ways. We can charge an hourly rate based on the time
actually spent clearing or we can quote a fixed price for the entire
job. Each of these has some benefits for you so we’ll help you
choose the method that works best for you.
If you have a specific job in mind
the fixed price will probably be the best. You’ll know right from
the start exactly how much the job will cost and you won’t have to
be concerned about which equipment we’re using or unforeseen
problems we encounter.
But, for some jobs, the extent of
the work won’t be known until the work is well along. Many people
want to start out with a couple of days of work to see the progress
for themselves. Based on the results they see the scope of the job
frequently increases as they see how quickly the dramatic
improvement comes. In this case the job begins at an hourly rate and
may or may not later convert to a fixed price job.
In any case R Cedar will visit your
property to assess the job and will visit with you to understand
your objectives. We will discuss your options and give you the
information you need to make your best choice. With R Cedar there
will be no surprises. |
